The place is very good, the only thing missing is a restaurant with a mini market, the operators are super friendly. Have been there 6 times and will be going there more often!

New, functional sanitary facilities. Beach not overcrowded despite hot weekend. Nudism nearby, but you need bathing shoes here. Water quality is excellent. Various attractions and restaurants around the lake

Scores with the lake
Campsite only scores points because of the beautiful lake and the nearby beach. The ground on all pitches is made of coarse chippings, no grass, no trees. This makes it look like a road construction site and dirty. Arrival only possible until 18:00 (according to the website). Barbecuing with charcoal is always prohibited. When we were there, it was very noisy on the pitch.

Sehr empfehlenswert.Wir können es wärmstens empfehlen. Wir haben während unseres Aufenthaltes keine Nachteile festgestellt. Gerne werden wir das Camp auch im nächsten Jahr wieder besuchen und dafür werben.

We arrived as a couple and were welcomed very friendly and everything was explained to us. Since it was supposed to rain on a Sunday we had camped and wanted to stay the 1 night. We asked if we could possibly get a safari tent. It was implemented immediately. Dear Sternencamp, big praise and a big thank you again for everything. It was really great with you. And if you could award more points, you would definitely get them. We'll be back next year and are really looking forward to it. The sanitary facilities were well maintained.

Staff could be friendlier, dog beach far away, few to no trees on the grounds so hardly any shade, gravel place with little meadow or green areas, only one garbage place, no garbage cans on the grounds e.g. for dog waste bags
Beautiful place
Beautifully situated and modern campsite directly on Lake Bärwald. A large beach is directly accessible from the site. There is also a snack bar and toilets nearby. Unfortunately, the dog beach is too far away for my taste and, as always, much too small but equipped with a Dixi. The pitch consists of... gravel. Unfortunately little to no greenery, meadow or trees. This makes it look very unnatural and provides hardly any shade. So very warm on the pitch. Water and waste water directly on the pitch is nice. Sanitary facilities are very well maintained and clean. Showering is possible without tokens and is included in the price. That's a real plus. Small criticism goes to the staff. They could be friendlier and say hello sometimes. Lawnmowers on gravel are not necessary for my taste. Overall a nice place for a longer stay. Recommended with a dog if you can walk a bit to the dog beach or have a bike with you. If you like it a bit more natural, you have to cut back and look for something else.

Spacious pitch, central, clean and easily accessible sanitary facilities. The beach is in the immediate vicinity.

Unfortunately, the campsite has no shady pitches, so the motorhome is exposed to direct sunlight all day long. The stay must usually be booked online and paid for 100% in advance.
Relaxing days at Bärwalder See 2023
We had reserved a stay of 8 days, but had to leave after only 7 days for personal reasons. A request for a refund was refused, even though not all the pitches were occupied. As the operators have no problem with the pitches and the change of pitch users, we consider this procedure to be customer-unfriendly. As the campsite is very overcrowded, we will book our next visit to Bärwalder See on the opposite shore.

Really the most beautiful campsite
We have now spent 1 week at the campsite Sternencamp Bärwalder See. Our first trial vacation with the caravan. On arrival, I was immediately impressed by the view. It's great for cycling, eating ice cream, inline skating and, in summer, swimming on the beach below. The site is really super clean. There is a snack bar with lots of goodies and a children's playground. You can also go out for a great meal.

Campsite with a South Sea feeling
On arrival, despite the office being officially closed due to the many arrivals and departures, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The pitches are easily accessible and sufficiently large, very wide driveways. Steel pegs are required due to the stony ground.

We had the "bad luck" that it was... over 30 degrees for days on end and there was no shade. The only relief was the nearby lake, which has a beautiful sandy beach.

Showers and individual washing cubicles are really large, but could be a bit more plentiful, especially when the site is full. This is often the case at weekends.

Three dishwashing sinks are clearly not enough, and they are far too deep (laundry sinks).

The on-site snack bar is cozy and good value for money. Unfortunately, bread rolls are only available from 8.30 a.m. with advance order, which you can also order online.

The nearest snack bar is approx. 100 m away above the beach.

From the campsite you can make very nice excursions both by bike and by car.

Shopping facilities (bakery, butcher, drinks market, Lidl) are also easily accessible by bike in nearby Boxberg.

Dealing with guests for electricity billing
Simply deduct 34 euros in electricity costs for 3 nights
It's the details that decide in the end. The guest is mercilessly blamed for any communication errors between the guest and the site operator. What happened to me: One of the instructions on arrival was that the electricity could be connected directly at the pitch. I did this by using the last free socket.... As it turned out on departure, this was the wrong one. Another guest had probably also not been instructed correctly. 34 for electricity was simply deducted from my deposit, which is an estimated €25 too much. A discussion was pointless. I should have noticed the mistake as each socket was labeled with the pitch number. However, at 186 cm tall, I would have had to squat down in front of the power box to see it. You can tell guests this on arrival, but you don't have to. It's your own fault if you can't read. You shouldn't tell a guest this, but of course you can still do it. This may not be good manners, but it makes a lasting impression.

We felt very comfortable, quiet, clean water, great bike path around the lake, clean Pkatz, very spacious pitches, be sure to visit Bad Muskau Fuerst Puckler Park and take bicycles, as well as Findlingspark Nochten, Lidl is in the village about 2 km by bike
